4th Game at New Busch Stadium

Before the game we have an amazing lunch downtown called Charle Gitto's , an italian restaurant. Our server told us that Craig Counsell came in the day before for lunch. The Brewers were trying to sweep their division rival Cardinals and King Albert. Albert Pujols was the story in this game by going four for four. Pujols connected for a home run in the first inning off Yovani Gallardo. The Brewers had a hard time staying out of four double plays, it was the most double plays that they grounded into since September of 2010. Gallardo was everywhere in the strike zone tonight. Chris Carpenter pitched a great game after only allowing two runs in the first inning. Carpenter pitched 8 innings,  2 runs , and 4 strikeouts.

3rd Game at New Busch Stadium

Randy Wolf and Jake Westbrook pitched pretty well after going eight innings a piece. Everyone had a hit in the Brewers lineup except Casey McGehee. Tony LaRussa got ejected after a missed call by first base umpire Greg Gibson. Pinch-hitter Josh Wilson was ruled safe on a sacrifice bunt when Pujols struggled to keep his toe in contact with the first-base bag. Replays had shown that Pujols did indeed get his toe on the bag.

2nd Game at New Busch Stadium

This was a pitchers duel kind of game. Clayton Kershaw pitched 7 IP 1 ER 7K's. The offense was kind of quiet on both sides. It was a nice day to sit in the shade and watch a ballgame. We ate at Ozzie's restaurant after the game. IT WAS TASTY! Maybe not so tasty to my Dad. HAHA. We headed off to Cincinnati the night after and arrived in Fort Wright at about 3:30 P.M. ET.

DODGERS 4 CARDINALS 1             Thursday, August 7th 2008

1st Game at New Busch Stadium

Albert Pujols collected 4 hits including a grand slam. Ryan Ludwick and Manny Ramirez also went deep. Derek Lowe was awful giving up 13 hits and 8 runs. It seemed like everyone had a hit, combined there were 28 hits. The crowd was very loud the whole game. New Busch Stadium was kind of pricey. A large lemonade was $8 and chicken tenders with fries was $11 at Hardee's.
